Let’s step away from the crowds of Venice and dive into a world of tradition, craftsmanship, and beauty with my Murano private tour—a perfect blend of art, daily life, and authentic Venetian history.
On this tour, we’ll explore Murano, the island famous worldwide for its glassmaking excellence, charming canals, and deep cultural roots. I’ll meet you directly at your accommodation, and together we’ll head to the waterbus stop to begin our journey. As we leave Venice behind, the lagoon opens up to reveal a quieter, more local side of life—one many visitors miss. This Murano private tour is all about discovering hidden stories, seeing real artisans at work, and experiencing Murano beyond the souvenir shops.
Once on the island, we’ll enjoy a leisurely walk through Murano’s streets, where tradition and modern life blend seamlessly. You’ll discover the island’s main highlights, including historical buildings, picturesque views, and lesser-known corners with stories carved in stone. Along the way, I’ll share with you the rich history of Murano—from its Roman origins to its golden age as the heart of Venetian glassmaking.
Curious about how glass was made centuries ago? On this Murano private tour, we’ll visit a site that reveals what the ancient furnaces looked like. It’s a rare opportunity to understand how Venice carefully guarded its glassmaking secrets by moving all production to Murano in the 13th century. This part of the experience brings the past to life, showing you how Murano became the prestigious center of glass it still is today.
Then, we’ll step into the present with a visit to a modern glass furnace, where you’ll witness real glass masters in action. Watch as molten glass is transformed using centuries-old techniques—blown, sculpted, and shaped into elegant forms right before your eyes. Some studios showcase more than one technique, and each demonstration gives you a deeper appreciation of the skill and artistry involved.
If you’re traveling with a small group (up to 3 people), I can also arrange an exclusive glass bead workshop with one of the last traditional perlere—women who continue the ancient art of making Murano beads by hand. It’s an authentic, hands-on experience that offers a true connection to Murano’s heritage. Just ask me for availability and pricing, and I’ll do the rest!
This Murano private tour is flexible and fully customizable depending on your interests. Whether you’re passionate about art, fascinated by history, or simply curious to explore a quieter side of Venice, we’ll create a tour that’s meaningful and enjoyable for you.
The tour ends in Murano, giving you the perfect opportunity to enjoy a relaxing lunch on the island. I’ll gladly recommend local restaurants where you can taste traditional lagoon cuisine away from the tourist crowds. And don’t worry—I’ll explain how to easily return to Venice by vaporetto whenever you’re ready.

As a local, Lucia brought a unique and personal touch to our experience that you simply can't get from a standard tour. She was warm, engaging, and incredibly knowledgeable—sharing stories and insights that made each stop come alive. One of the highlights was visiting a fantastic Murano glass gallery run by a local family, where we had the rare opportunity to meet the artist and purchase beautiful pieces directly from the source. If you're visiting Venice, do yourself a favor and book a tour with Lucia. It’s not just a tour—it’s an unforgettable, insider experience you won’t find anywhere else!
Lucia was absolutely wonderful to work with. She has such a wonderful demeanor and so knowledgeable. I couldn’t imagine making a better choice for a tour guide. I highly recommend her.
Unparalleled Hospitality: Lucia's Exceptional Service in Venice I've lived in Italy for almost 2 years and have traveled a lot in that time, so I've had quite a few tour guides and event planners. Lucia is by far the most responsive, organized, and communicative! Even though I was trying to set up a last minute (less than a week) tour with her for almost 30 colleagues. Not surprisingly she didn't have availability, however, I can't thank her enough!! She was extremely patient and kind hearted, and without any obligation she still organized for us a trip to Murano, which included a visit to an amazing glass factory with a live glassmaster's demonstration, along with boat transportation to and from Venice. The entire event was a huge success, my team absolutely loved it, and it's all because of Lucia's generosity and unmistakable passion for sharing these wonderful places and experiences. Thank you!
Lucia is incredible! I am so grateful for all her assistance planning our tour - she was so easy to communicate with and planned a wonderful morning for us. Everything worked out so well, I would highly recommend a tour with Lucia if you have the opportunity to go to Venice.
Lucia was incredible - even though she was out of town, she organized a wonderful private tour of a Murano glass factory for our family during our trip to Venice. We had a fantastic time and feel like we got to see “behind the scenes.” We couldn’t be more grateful to Lucia for her responsiveness, generosity and helpfulness. Would recommend her tours and services extremely highly & we can’t wait to come back!
This was a wonderful tour. Lucia did a great job tailoring the tour to our interests. We saw the glass factory and the showroom, ( the work they showed us was incredible). We added the bead making class for 2 of us on the tour. It was a totally awesome experience. While we were in the class, Lucia took the others on the rest of their tour and then came back for us. I would be happy to have Lucia as a guide again.
Lucia was helpful, knowledgeable, and great company! She went above and beyond to make sure our day together - and the rest of the trip to Venice - was fantastic. I appreciated that she was accessible before I arrived to answer questions. Will definitely recommend Lucia to my friends back home in NY and CA
Great tour. Our granddaughter fell in love with Lucia, very passionate and highly rated information, really enjoyed it, would recommend without resignations
